Reviews from both loyal customers and first-time visitors echo a common sentiment: the food is exceptional. One patron, Megan K., has made bi-monthly visits for the Mì Vịt Tiềm (Vietnamese Duck Noodle Soup), praising its depth of flavor while giving a nod to room for improvement in service. Similarly, Yu S. appreciates the fresh ingredients but notes a desire for a richer pho broth, highlighting the restaurant's commitment to freshness and quality.
Another customer, Matthew N., raves about the aromatic broth of both the Pho and Hu Tieu, indicating that even with a few quirks—like the location and organization during busy hours—this little gem stands out as a must-try in Seattle's culinary scene. Jeffrey N. goes so far as to say that their Cơm Tấm Đặc Biệt might just be the best in the city, praising its balance of flavors and textures.
Despite the compact size of the restaurant and occasional rush of diners, the experience is undeniably rewarding. As advised by Julie T., patience is key; the wait is well worth the payoff when those delightful dishes arrive at your table.

“ My mom and I really enjoy the food at this restaurant, and we visit twice a month mainly to have their Vietnamese Duck Noodle Soup (Mì Vịt Tiềm). While the food is great, the service could use some improvement, so don't expect a particularly friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is conveniently located, and the prices are reasonable. Just a heads-up: they add an 18% service charge for parties of five or more (including infants). I took pictures during our visit. ”
“ At a Vietnamese place, it's pretty much either pho and/or bahn mi and fresh rolls for me. This joint doesn't have bahn mi, probably cause the spot on the other side of the market does lol. So combination pho and fresh rolls it is. Everything looked very fresh and green. For the rolls in particular, they plated the huge lettuce leaves to flare out of the ends of the rolls in a way that looked appetizing. The rolls were nice and tight; nothing fell out, without the rice paper being too hard or too chewy. The noodles were fine and normal, as was the brisket and other stuff. My only major gripe would probably be the broth. I found the umami to be rather weak. Not weak enough that I would call it bad, but weak enough that I want to dock points. I will note that I have some bias in not being a purist about pho broth. I'll take a slightly dirty broth over a clear broth if it means I get much stronger umami. Still, overall, there's not much to complain about. Four stars seems default and fair. ”
“ Food (4/5): I ordered the pho and the Hu Tieu, which were both great! The pho broth was very aromatic and clean, and they gave plenty of meat, although some pieces were very fatty, so next time I'd order the Pho Tai instead. The Hu Tieu broth had a bit of a celery taste, which was personally delicious to me, but next time I'd try the Hu Tieu hoac Mi Thap Cam, so I could have more texture with each bite from the alternating rice and egg noodles. Service (5/5): the restaurant fills up very quickly, even when we got there shortly after they opened, but our servers were very prompt and friendly. Ambiance (4/5): the restaurants very small and the restrooms next to the banh mi shop just a few restaurants down, but otherwise it felt very familiar and homey to me. Overall (4/5): I'd like to come back and try the other dishes I mentioned in the food section of my review, but for those who are looking to try their TOP seller, almost every table had the Bun Mang Vit, which a friend said paired well with the sauce! ”
“ I believe their Cơm tấm đặc biệt is if not the best in Seattle, their fish sauce isn't overly salty and instead it's just the right amount of saltiness for the dish, and everything in the dish, especially with the shrimp, pork chop and pickled veggies blend so well together, creating an excellent rice dish that hits the spot every time! ”
“ Super busy a little bit unorganized and takes awhile for food. BUT if you're patient... the food is SO worth the wait. I love their broken rice dish here! The restaurant is tad bit small. There's a good size parking lot. ”
“ Though busy, I was able to get a table within 5 minutes of arriving. I ordered the Pho Bo Vien and tried the Mi Năm Vàng dish! Both were spectacular! Employees were super welcoming and helped us with everything we needed. Definitely coming here again. Would love to see this restaurant expand in the future! ”
“ As someone who is Vietnamese and has had a lot of experience eating Vietnamese food and also grown a slight distaste for Viet food, I would say that this has been THE best place for Vietnamese food. I ordered the Com Tam Dac Biet, which translate to the special rice, more specifically, it is brown rice with grill pork chop and other assortments and sides. Every single thing in this dish was absolutely delicious, I wouldn't be surprised if the silverware tasted good. The restaurant itself is a part of the Lam Seafood Market, so it doesn't have the best atmosphere but it is still a comfortable and relaxing place to enjoy lunch with your friends and family. I do agree with the other reviewers that the service is not top-notch, but you go to a restaurant to eat. So if you can get over the fact that you won't receive the best staff service of your life, I highly highly HIGHLY recommending this place, or just order to-go :) ”
